You have to remove everything from the radiator back to the water pump, including the timing belt. We just changed mine and when we put it back together it won't start. We also replace all the belts, including the timing belt, hoses, plugs and wires and it still won't stay running. We are now trying to figure out what the problem is. I checked at the shop here in WI and it cost $350.00 to get the water pump, thermostat, and timing belt changed and that was a new water pump, not a rebuilt one. That is my recommendation. Just pay the shop to do it.
The four wheel drive light is most Likely staying on when your Isuzu Rodeo is in two wheel drive because of a bad sensor. A licensed auto technician would be able to replace this for you.
Winter drive
The Rodeo is a rear wheel drive vevicle
It is on the left side of the engine above the exhaust pipe and not easy to get to. I suggest taking it to a garage/
if it is 2 wheel drive probably 3 hours and if it is 4 wheel drive probably 5 hours
mostly in drive only
Take it to a service shop.
your transmission is going out
The diagnostic port on a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo drive is located on the lower kick panel on the driver's side. It is just below the left spark plug.

It may be possible to drive, but low fluid can be very damaging.
I think it's 46 foot/pounds.
