This is how you change the water pump on a 2wd 95 Rodeo. I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE THE SAME......Remove fan shroud, fan, and belts. Get a 15/16 socket and remove the nut that holds the crankshaft pulley on and remove the pulley. You really need to get a Haynes or Chilton manual cus this part has to be done right or you are letting yourself in for all kinds of trouble. Remove upper and lower timing belt covers and make a diagram of where the bolts go, as they are not all the same. You MUST align the marks on both the camshaft pulleys with the little dots on the timing belt covers.(at 3 o'clock)This should align the key on the camshaft pulley with the hash mark on the inside cover(at 3 o'clock also). Remove the two bolts holding the hydraulic belt tensioner in and remove it. You will need to compress it in a vise and put a nail thru the holes in it to be able to reinstall it. Then slip the timing belt off. Be SURE you DO NOT move the pulleys out of alignment. The water pump is in the top center of the block, has 11 or 12 bolts in it. Remove it, clean the gasket area and replace it. And then reassemble. It is not easy, and I had a Haynes manual to help me.

My 1993 Isuzu rodeo has 175,000 on it. New timing, water pump, radiator at 100,000. Still running strong. Regular oil changes.
how do I remove the water pump from my 1990 Isuzu truck?
It is located under the timing belt cover.
TIP my 97 4 cylinder rodeo heater not working for 3 days later i found out the WATER PUMP was messed up. the temp. gauge only reached 2/3 of the way up(not even on the red section) but it i blew a head.
You have to remove the timing belt to get at it if it's a v-6 Not an easy task If it's a four cyl you need a special tool to hold the pump gear or you will have to take the chain apart
NO the rodeo does not have an interference engine. You can break the timing belt and not ruin the engine.......... THIS IS AN INTERFERENCE ENGINE. IF THE CRANKSHAFT MOVES WHILE THE TIMING BELT IS OFF OR BREAKS, THE VALVES WILL COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE PISTONS.
try - heater - core - that was my p
