(Refer to MA section "Checking Drive Belts.") 4. Remove water pump pulley. 5. Remove crankshaft pulley and front (upper and lower) belt cover. Refer to EM section "Timing Belt." 6. Remove water pump.

Often people replace the head gasket before looking into the water pump first, every situation is unique of course, but just a suggestion, before spending lots of time (if you replace it your self) or lots of money (paying a mechanic to do it) check the water pump and or the radiator first as the water pump is know to go bad on pathfinder quite a bit.
