Does the Sash Channel need to be removed before installing the window
After you open the hood the whole headlight assembly can be removed by taking off the the two black plastic wing nuts on top holding the headlight assembly in. There is also another wing nut like bolt that is between the headlight assembly and turn signal assembly that must be removed. One you do this you have to lift up on the headlight assembly to clear the threaded studs that the plastic wing nuts were on and pull both headlight and turn signal light assemblies straight out. They both have to come out together. There are some clips that still hold all of this in, but it will come out when you pull it straight forward. I have done this several times and it seems kind of tricky the first time, but actually is pretty easy.
To remove the taillight assembly on a 1997 Infiniti Qx4, the lining for the cargo area needs to be removed. Push down, and turn the plastic rivets in the corner of the cargo area. Then remove the cover over the taillight bulb.
Under the hood on the drivers side behind the battery. There is a flat black plastic cover that has to be removed....
First you have to remove the plastic around the steering column, two bolts hold on the lower plastic and two screws hold on the upper plastic from under the steering column once the plastic is removed you can access the three bolts holding the shifter assembly in place. You must first remove the transmission linkage As well as the selector linkage in order to get it free
The plastic headlight assembly is held in by two clips. Pull them up to release the assembly. The headlights and turn signal lamps are quarter (90°) twist-in sockets, and also need to be disconnected before you can remove the entire assembly from the car. The bulbs plug into the sockets once they are removed from the assembly.
The trick here is removing the plastic tail light assembly after you've removed the obvious screws holding it in place. Once these screws as removed, you would expect the assembly to just come off but it doesn't. DO NOT PULL DIRECTLY OFF! There as screws still holding the assembly in place. You need to shift the assembly to the side (slide right on passenger side, left on driver side). The assembly will slide slightly and you should be able to remove it at this point. You see there are plastic holders where the the head of the screw fits through and then slides to a narrower section to hold it in place. If you don't slide before you pull, you'll break the plastic tabs. At this point, it simple to replace the bulb and replace the assembly.
First remove the plastic radiator cover, then you can see 3 screws that hold the light in place. Take them out. There is a plastic retainer in the middle of the assembly that you have to depress with a screw driver to fully release the assembly. Unplug the electric connection. The unit is now free and you can gain access to the covers for the lamps. They are removed with a hex driver.
There are 2 fuse boxes: one under the hood on the drivers side, and the other is under the drivers seat... they both have black plastic covers that can be removed without tools.
The oil filter is located on the Drivers side front lower part of the engine. There is a plastic shield the has to be removed to access it www.lextechautomotivellc.com
To replace the upper light on the hatchback door, the plastic trim piece just snaps in place, once that is removed the light assembly snaps down to reveal the bulb. The stop lights on the body have the attaching screws covered by plastic plus, just pry them out and remove the screws and the assembly can be removed
It's not easy. There are five plastic retainer clips that have to be released to allow the cover on the front side of the mirror assembly to be removed. Two on top, Two on the botton, and one on the drivers side (near botton of side). Do this on a warm day when the plastic is more workable. You can only access them from the mirror side between the mirror frame and the mirror assembly body. It's not easy. When you finally are able to get the cover off the bulb is a snap to replace. Just turn the bulb assembly 90 degrees and it lifts out. Good Luck.
I just changed the driver side brake light bulb in my 2005 Nissan Altima. There is a round plastic clip on the verticle carpet cover which must first be removed to access the back of the tail light assembly. Squeeze the back side of the clip and pull on the front of the clip until it snaps out. There are then two 5/16 nuts which must be removed. These are hidden by plastic wiring brackets which must be removed from the nut shaft. The light assembly can then be removed - note that there are two allignment posts attached to the assembly which slide thru slots on the out-side of the assembly. Carefully pull or pry backward to remove the assembly from the body of the car. Here you may access the back of the affected bulb. Simply turn to the left and remove/replace the bulb. Hopefully you will not be doing this as I did in Texas on a 105 degree day.
