A person can reset the maintenance required light on a 2004 Toyota Sienna by holding down the odometer trip button. A series of zeroes will appear, which indicates that the light has been reset.
maintenance with engine
According to the owners manual for my 2004 Sienna, all it means is that an oil change is due. You can google how to reset the light, in case the guys in the shop forget to.
disconnect the battery
Set it to trip A and hold reset turn ignition off then turn ignition on and maintenance light will flash and your done.
Set the odometer reading to total miles and not to trip miles. Now press and hold the odometer reset button in and turn the ignition switch to the on position. (Do not start the engine). After around 5 seconds of holding the reset button in the maintenance required light will go off and be reset. Release the button and turn the ignition off.
How do you reset the maintenance required light in the 2011Toyota RAV4 with a smart key starting system
With the ignition switch in the off position, hold in the hold in the trip odometer. Now turn on your key and you will see a series of zeros begin to appear. Once that stops, your maintenance light will be reset.
How to Reset Maintenance Warning Light on a 2008 Toyota 4Runner
Any commercial maintenance store (Firestone, City Garage, etc.) can reset it without performing any repair or maintenance. Likewise with a Toyota dealer. It's triggered by the number of miles you've driven since the last time it was turned off, based on the recommended maintenance intervals in your owner's manual, and doesn't necessarily indicate any problems with the vehicle.
With the ignition switch in the off position, hold in the hold in the trip odometer. Now turn on your key and you will see a series of zeros begin to appear. Once that stops, your maintenance light will be reset.
It is easy... Just press and hold the odometer button on the dash and then turn the key to the on position and watch the dashes in the odometer display slowly disappear. Then release the button and you are good to go! The above answer didn't work on my 2010 Toyota Sienna and neither did the instructions on page 442 of the owner's manual that came with my 2010 Toyota Sienna. This is what did work: Start car and bring up odometer display on left of wheel (not Trip A or Trip B). Turn car off. Hold down odometer button. Turn key to on position without starting car. Wait for maintenance light to blink and go out. Release odometer button and turn key to off position. Dealer changed oil and always forgets to reset the "maintenance required" light.
