It all depends on what make, model, etc. Here are some options.Open the driver's door, Pull off the left panel for the fuses on the dash. There is a reset button there. It is in your owner's manual.

Read your owners manual. I think you push the gas pedal down 3 times within 15 seconds with the engine off and the key on.

What kind of car is it. If its a gm except Saturn, turn the key to the on position and push the gas pedal to the floor and let it all the way out 3 times with in ten seconds. Honda and Toyota hold the trip rest button turn the key to the on position and wait for it to go out. On Toyota the trip odo screen will have lines flashing 5 than 4 than 3 than 2 and so on, also may have to have trip a on screen first. Check your owners manual
