Main goal is odor control, since it seems flies are attracted to things that smell and has an odor. You should try different brands of litter. I hear ones with baking soda are a pretty good choice. Or add baking soda to your litter of choice. You also may need to change it more often than you normally do, especially in the summer months.
change it, sprinkle baking soda in the box and keep the area clean! if you keep the poop in a container near the litter box, take it to the trash immediately. the flies only stay where there is filth and moisture.
The litter box may not be clean enough for the cat or the cat feels uncomfortable in the litter box; a litter box should be cleaned every day or every second day, depending on how many cats you have. Maybe the cat does not know where the litter box is, if you move the litter box and don't show the cat its new location the cat won't know where the box is. The cat also mightn't be trained to use a litter box properly and might need a little help using it. Also, if a cat is very old, they mightn't realise they have to use the litter box or they do not have time to get to the litter box before they urinate etc. . The cat could also be sick.if your cat is just a kitten then the box might be too clean the kitten must smell where the toilet is.
You should minimal clean your cat litter pan 2 a week, and you can use cat friendly desinfect. You should also shovel your cat his poo immediately after he is done. So the litter pan stays cleaner.
There are a few ways to keep control of the smell. Clean the litter box regularly There are special litter box deodorizers you can spray, powder, or fill in or around the litter box. You can find these at any pet store. You can find kitty litter that blocks odor to a degree, or kitty litter with good scents.
first of all, you have to get rid of the scent in the carpet, and the floor beneath. second, put a litter box on that rug. it may take a while, but your cat might use the litter box. if just leaving it there doesn't work, watch your cat. if it digs the floor, put it in the box. == Start keeping a litterbox indoors as well as outdoors & make sure that both are cleaned regularly. If the outside litterbox is a bit too dirty for her likings, that may be a reason she comes into the house & goes to the bathroom on the rug. If she has a litterbox in the house as well as outside, she may start using that instead of your rug.
The PH level of used cat litter is so high that it will probably burn the roots of whatever you put it on. Take it to the dump or even better get rid of the cat.
Rabbits are very territorial, they are also creatures of habit. Observe which corner of their cage they use for a potty. Put a cat litter box with sand or clay litter in that corner. It should be emptied every two or three days. If you are planning to let this rabbit loose in your house you can eventually get rid of the cage and leave the box there and they will still use the litter box in the space where he has become used to using it.
Easy you either get rid of the cat or get a litter box with a top on it and place a line of ground chili powder in front of the entrance of the littler box it wont bother the cat as much as the dogs because dogs sniff everything and their noses are more sensitive they will be sure to go the other direction once they get a sniff of the pepper.
Try putting a not used tea bag or fill your shoes with cat litter not used of course
You need to use products that remove ammonia, if the cat is using carpets/clothes as a litter box. Most pet shops will sell various sprays for this. Cat urine has ammonia in, which is what attracts the cat to use the same spot again and again. If your cat is using the litter box, but has strong-smelling faeces, it may indicate a poor diet. Contrary to popular belief, a cat's stool should not smell strongly at all, and is often due to being fed a poor quality food, often full of grains and other cereals. If your cat allows it, you can also try a covered litter tray. This will contain any smells better than an open tray. If this is not possible, then sprinkling Baking Soda in the litter itself will help mask odours.
I'm not a doctor, but there are many things that can be harmful from a litter box, including, but not limited to: feces has bacteria, dust from the litter box can spread the bacteria which can enter your lungs and can pass on to your unborn child. Cats are a bad idea to begin with when you are having a child, not only do to unknown allergens, but once the child is born, cats tend to pounce on children in their crib and smother them...I think you should get rid of the cat a.s.a.p, your child is more important than a pet....
For the most part, cat litter is not harmful to humans, since it is generally made from clay, and contains no chemicals. So, no, most kinds of litter won't affect your behavior (other than keeping your house from smelling bad). But something else might have a bad effect. Cat litter is not entirely safe due to what's in it-- cat feces (or poo, if you prefer). Cat feces contain a parasite that can be very dangerous to pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems. To make sure you don't get infected, a cat owner should probably wear disposable gloves, and get rid of cat litter properly, and on a regular basis -- put it in the trash, and if you are pregnant, have someone else dispose of it.
