yes you can install one and no it will not work the tape
where your tape player is in the middler of your dash replace that with your CD player and un hook the wires from your stock radio. I did the same think in my truck and it works fine.
i hate to say this i have done this myself but the bottom dash has to come out this is a time consuming job
Remove the tape player decorative cover. Remove the tape player retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the tape player. Reverse the process to install the new tape player.
they sell a aftermarket mounting kit that replaces thone where the tape player goes and the vents above it you use the vents out of your factory one i bought mine at wal-mart for $10. if you take the radio part out it makes a nice little storage place
You need to take out the plastic panel which goes around the tape player. Behind the panel you will find mounting screws which you have to remove. After that you will be able to pull the player out together with the holder. The player is connected to the harness. Make sure that you have a right kind of harness on the CD player. If you don't you will have to modify in order to connect in a right way. Remove the tape player from the harness install the CD player. Connect all wires. Assembly is opposite to disassembly.
It has a broken belt inside the player. Remove it from the dash and take it to a repair center unless you are mechanically able to change it yourself.
Have you removed the factory tape deck?
Find and purchase a television tuner card. You need to install the drivers. Turn on the VCR and open VLC media player. Then download and install DVD Flick.
If the cassette player does not play the tape, insert a different tape to see if that is the problem. If another tape does not play, use a can of air to clean the tape player.
Disable the tape player by not inserting a tape into the player.
