After changing oil, turn the key to the on posistion like you would when starting the car, BUT DO NOT START THE MOTOR!!!! Then, pump the brake pedal slowly 3 times. This should give you a message that says "Engine Oil Life Reset." Hope this helps. If not, look in your owners manual for your car, it should tell you in there. --Crash

If you are low on oil the ECM will shut the engine down so it will not blow. check your oil if it's low you could have a oil leak add oil and have it checked. If you have plenty oil the sensor needs to be replace. Also if you haven't changed the oil in a long time it will thin out an set the sensor off also
