What could cause a Weedeater trimmer spool to not spin if the motor runs and revs up nicely?

Take the spool off the the machine. By that I mean the part that contains the cutting line. There will be a spring that drives the spool. Get a pair of pliers and gently pull on it. If it comes out of the shaft it is probably broken or it came loose. If that does not solve the problem look at the spool where the nut is located make sure its there and that the housing is not wallowed out. If so buy a new spool.

How do you install 065 cutter line on Weedeater model RTE 115 trimmer which you have only been able to find prewound spools at Lowe's?

Unscrew cap and remove. Remove line guide ring. Note which way to put line guide ring back on, slot to outer edge. Remove the empty spool. Don't take spool apart unless you need to get inside to remove string. The outer half should be yellow. Cut 25 ft. of .065 line. Start pushing the line inside the spool from the center making sure the string is winding inside in a counter clock direction which should be shown on the spool. Keep pushing until there is about only 6 in. left. Replace spool. Then the line guide ring, making sure to pull the string through the middle of it. Then hold the string on the slot in the ring while replacing the cap. You should be set to go.

Feeds thread from spool to needle?

The thread moves from the spool through the needle to make stitches on a sewing machine. The thread take-up lever is what feeds the thread from the spool to the needle as it moves up and down.

How do you reload string on ryobi 700r weedeater?

Unscrew the plastic "bump knob" in the center of the trimmer head and set it aside. The spool which holds the trimmer line can now be removed from the spindle in the center of the cutting head. There is a spring on the back side of the spool which can be removed and set aside so that you do not accidentally lose it. You will notice that the spool is divided into two sections much like the layers of a cake. Each layer of the spool is designed to hold approximately 6 feet of trimmer line. Cut two identical lengths of line 6 feet long. Take one piece and insert the end into the angled hole you will find bored into the spindle at the center of the spool. Each section of the spool has it's own hole to anchor the line. You must start with the innermost section of the spool (the one on the spring side of the spool). After inserting the line in the hole, wind it around the spool in the direction indicated by the arrows molded into the plastic of the spool. You will notice that the line winds in a direction that causes it to fold back at the insertion hole creating a secure anchor point. Continue winding until you reach the end of your 6 foot section of line. Snap the line into one of the notches molded into the tabs around the edge of the spool leaving 4 to 6 inches of line protruding from the notch. Repeat this process for the other section of the spool. Now snap the spring back onto the center of the spool and place the spool back onto the spindle in the center of the cutting head. As you place the spool back into position thread the two protruding ends of line through the reinforced holes in the shell of the cutting head. Press the spool into the head and rotate it slightly. The tabs on the spool should engage under some tabs in the shell to help hold everything in place while you screw the bump knob back into place. Finally, grasp both protruding pieces of line and pull outward to release them from the notches in the spool. If you find that you have too much cutting line exposed simply push in the spool and rotate clockwise to wind the excess back onto the spool. This sounds complicated but is really not. Buy a spare spool and keep it handy for quick reloads. These directions also apply to similar Homelite and John Deere trimmers which use a common cutting head. Kerry Hughes, Birmingham, AL

How do you replace the line on a spool with two lines coming out of the spool?

Cut two pieces of trimmer line about 6-8 ft long. Push the line into the opening in the spool until it comes out of the bottom of the spool. Place the end of the line into the small hole adjacent to the opening where the line came out of the spool. Pull the line tight while holding your finger on the line in the hole. Do this for both sides and then wind the spool in the reverse direction to fill the spool. Pull on the line occasionally to make sure the line is not binding up in the spool. There are spools that will take one single long line, where the center of the line is attached to a notch (or similar) in the center of the spool and then wound with one line on each side of the spool. Then, the end of each line is threaded through each hole in the trimmer head. It would be best if you consulted a user's manual.
