on a brake rotor there are 2 bearings ,inner and outer. the outer bearing is the first one you see that falls out when removing rotor.the inner is the bigger one that is held in by the seal when you remove rotor so to remove the seal, place the rotor on some blocks so there is enough clearance under it to allow the bearing to come out.these blocks need to not be under centre where bearing is next with a long soft metal punch ,such as (brass),and a hammer, you need to knock the inner bearing out. this can be done by inserting punch thru the rotor from the front side,(top when layed down on blocks) when the bearing is knocked out ,the seal should come out with it.if the seal is completely trashed and doesnt come out with bearing, use same punchor a thinner one to knock seal out same way as for bearing/to replace you must replace bearings then gently tap new seal in this must also be done eevenly or it will not seat or seal properly
You need the relevant operating system and a wheel that will take a disc rotor .
Take off brake caliper and then hit the rotor with a hammer near the wheel bearing to break the seal between the rotor and axle shaft
take the wheel off, remove brake caliper, remove brake caliper bracket and pull the rotor toward you or use a hammer. its not bolted on. it just sits on there.
all you will need is to find rotor size because front and rear rotors are different and check wheel size volvo"s have rotors sizes for different wheels packages disconnect battery find level ground jack up car remove wheel check brake remove caliper bolts remove rotor pin on rotor take a hammer knock old rotor loose check em,brake clean area from old brake dust reverse process
Remove the caliper, remove the caliper bracket, and remove speed clips that hold rotor. If the rotor is stuck , take a hammer and hit it squarely between the wheel studs.
There is usually two Allen key bolts on the brake that you need to take out before you can take the brake off. On the rotor there are 6 Allen key bolts in the middle that you need to take out
You have to remove the brake caliper first. Then you might have to slack the parking brake. The parking brake on read disc in inside the back of the rotor. If you cannot slack the parking brake, the you will have to hit the rotor ( with a small 5 lb hammer ) to loosen it. Might take a little time if it is stuck on.
You have to take the two bolts off of the arm then the whole rotor comes off its a size 18mm ned a half inch breaker bar and a pipe is helpful they are stubborn!!
first take off frontwheel then take off brake caliper then rotor will pull right off .
remove the rotor bolts(philips). do not strip them. take off caliper bolts 12mm and caliper carrier 14mm. you can remove also the metal plate on the arm for more room
The rotor will wobble when the caliper is removed if the rotor isn't seated. Older jeeps don't need to have the rotor seated so it will slide off when the caliper is removed.
I don't remember 1985 Chevy 1/2 ton pickupshaving rear disc brakes. It should be a drum brake in the rear and disc brakes in front.
