loosen the three bolts that hold the injector pump to the timing cover or were you pour the oil in these bolt can be hard to reach put a thin 9/16 wrench will do it turn the pump to the passenger side to advance the timing and driver to retard it mark the pump where its at before you start to move it and make small adjustments 0.30 of a inch can be as much as 2 degrees
While looking at the engine, it is turning clockwise, therefore, the injection pump is turning counter-clockwise. To advance the timing, you have to turn the pump to the drivers side and to retard the timing, turn it to the passenger side.
On top of the moter , passenger side it has fuel line running to injector pump
