Rear Door Child Safety Locks (Sedan and Wagon models only) Child safetly locks are located on the rear edge of each rear door. To activate the locks, you must insert your car key into the opening and turn to the locked "vertical" position. To disengage the child safety lock, insert your car key and turn to the center position.
when you open the back door if you look where latch is you should be able to see a rectangle shape hole if you put your key in this and turn it you can activate/de activate the child locks
I discovered the answer to this accidentally. The door child locks are controlled by the same switch that controls the window locks. Bit strange but there you go...
A little switch on the door
Open the rear door, and near the lock there is a plastic grommit with a slot. Stick your key (or any similar shaped opject) in and twist it to the alternate position. simple. :)
Many vehicles have a 'child safety lock' in the back seat that prevents young children from opening the doors. Check your owner's manual. Some have a physical latch to turn to disengage. Others have a menu setting in the electronics that can be programmed. If they open from outside and not inside the child locks are probably on. open the door and look around the lock .
The rear turn signal on the 2009 328i is an array of LEDs and isn't a single bulb which can be replaced. The whole assembly needs to be switched out.
Have you tried unlocking the doors from the driver side door master switch(if you have power locks)with the car off and in park? you SHOULD then be able to open the doors from the inside then be able to turn the child lock off if you want. Each manufacturer is unique, if this doesnt work call your local ford dealer and ask, they should be able to tell you.
Not sure on the explorer but I did rear brakes on a Taurus ( 98) & the piston turned in. I used a set of channel locks & turn them counter clock wise. There is a tool for this.
Open the door, child lock will be visibale by door catch. Use car key in 'key hole' to turn from lock to unlock and back again
Usually you can find the switch on the doors themselves. Open the door and look on the part near the latch. Sometimes, there is a switch by the driver if the car has power locks.
It's located on the signal indicator. Turn the knob up for the windshield wipers to come on.
