HOW TO TURN OFF THE MAINTENANCE LIGHT ON 2002 HONDA ACCOURD
You can't reset that light...there is no such thing as a 2002 Honda Element...they didn't come out until 2003.
It requires service: Either it needs to go in for oil change and similar normal maintenance or there is something gone wrong.
Here is a link that walks you through turning off the maintenance required light step by step, I'm totally not car knowledgeable and did it on my on in two minutes! http://www.wikihow.com/Turn-off-the-%22Maint-Req%22-Light-on-a-2001-Honda-Civic
Usually it is pre programmed for oil changes and routine maintenance.
Press and Hold the reset button located at the odometer. 2. Turn the ignition key to ON only, keep the reset button pressed until the maintenance light goes off (about 10 seconds).
why is my oil is black in 2002 honda odyssey tremession
This works for a 2000 Honda Odyssey - it may also work for a 2002...try it.Of course you are free to have the service performed anywhere you like. It is not required that the services be performed at the dealer. As for the Maintenance Required Light, you, or your mechanic, can reset it. Here's how to reset the light:Turn off the engine.Press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON (Position II).Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets. That's all there is to it.
You fail to mention which Honda, so try this. Turn the ignition on while holding the odometer reset button in at the same time. Wait until the light goes out. Should take about 5 seconds.
1) Press and hold the trip odometer reset/select button 2) While holding the button, turn the key on to the RUN position. (where the key normally rests while driving) 3) KEEP HOLDING the trip button for 10 seconds or so, until the maintenance required light goes off. 4) Once the light goes off, release the trip button and turn off ignition. The light is now reset.
With the engine off, press and hold the mileage reset button on the instrument panel. Turn the key to "on" not start while still holding the button(10 to 30 secs.)It should reset the light. Don't reset this light without actually changing your oil though, that could be bad.
I have a 2001 sienna van and, other than oil and brakes, it has 200,000 + miles and its been wonderful. So yes.
