Google is a search engine, but not quite a search engine for direct answers to questions.
This makes direct comparison between WikiAnswers and Google unfair primarily because Google works by trawling the web, while WikiAnswers consists of people who ask, people who answer, and people who review and edit.
At WikiAnswers, we aim to bring the best answers out of the community and spread knowledge among people.
A good source of scientific answers would be Wolfram Alpha, as long as the question you ask is in their database, and can be recognised by their search engine.

While there are answers that are far from satisfactory here at WikiAnswers, there are also high quality answers posted by contributors in the community.

In my opinion Google is better. On Wiki Answers, not everything is true. People just like you and me can edit it. You just have to create an account and then you can answer the questions that other people have asked.
Well, Wiki Answers can be edited and changed by anyone and anybody. But Google is any page made by anybody as well. Even I've searched on Google, and it's has a link to Wiki Answers, so just check that the answers on Wiki Answers are true.
Our current information technology has exploded to such a high degree that we are bound to have vandals and just innocent people that are just having fun. It is a product of the information technology age we live in now.
I would not compare one source of information as better than another (though I am partial to Wiki Answers). but the best choice is to check several sources, and then come up with your own decision.
well... no... its like Wikipedia, only people who are nerdy enough to know the answer ever edit it because cool people have better stuff to do... plus anyone who wants to can add wrong answers to Google if they want... I've never found a wrong answer on here anyway though and if you're not sure if the answer is right or not on either site you can search the other... they are both great in my opinion.

Mostly google is believed to have the best search algorithm followed by Yahoo, MSN etc. If the answering sites do not have the right answer then Search Engines cannot return good results. There are other things like people posting links to good ansers in forums and blogs that help in propelling the search engine results.
