FOR GIRLS
-divide your hair about in half and tie the bottom half in a hairpiece
-comb the top half so you are holding it strait up
-cut about enough so that it comes to about the middle of your neck when you let it go
-divide your hair again about 3/4 of the way up and cut it again (about an inch off)
-this makes your hair blend a little more
-continue to layer your hair on top and keep it separate from the bottom.
I think it looks better when you give the top half of your hair a slight "v" cut and keep the bottom half strait across. you can also try braiding the bottom half into two braids and leave the top choppy and hanging out of your braids.
FOR GUYS
there are less guy hairstyles on the internet to find but i live in California, so there are plenty of guys' hairstyles that i see every day. my favorite that I've seen is spiked in the back and long staircase bangs in the front. (by staircase, i mean cut shorter on one side and longer in the other.) many guys that have this haircut acieve the "pin strait" thing with their bangs with a waxy hair product. im not sure what its called but i bought something like it a long time ago. it was by sheer blonde.
-once again, you have to separate you hair, but this time only the part that you want to be your bangs. (this hairstyle only works if you have long hair to start with or the bangs wont have the same effect. (try to keep your bangs very thick for this one, divide it from the front of your ears to 2/3 the way up so you can push your bangs forward.
-this time you tie the bangs in a hair peice.
-cut the back with scizors about an inch or longer from the scalp.
-once the back is done layer your bangs a little by holding them strait up and trim the top. if you like more layers, trim them while you're holding them back further.
-cut your bangs diagnaly so that it's shorter on one side and longer on the other.
-spike the back of your hair with styling gel.
