This is a basic answer, but I'll try my best to describe the differences. Good nutrition supplies the body with everything it needs to function. If you have the right amount of calcium your bones can hand the stresses you put on them; such as doing a push up. You're putting pressure on your hand and arm bones as well as the muscles. When you get enough B12 your brain can function and your blood can reproduce the proper way allowing you to carry on with your normal day to day activities. Say you get a paper cut, if you didn't have that nutrition your blood wouldn't be able stop that small cut from bleeding you out. A simple straight forward answer would be, without good nutrition you wouldn't be able to function and move as well as if you had terrible nutrition Not that a person cannot preform with bad nutrition. An analogy: Your car can run on regular gas but premium is most likely better. You can live off terrible foods and soda everyday, but vegetables are most likely better.

Well, first off, we all know that its good to drink water while exercising. It keeps our body hydrated. It's the same with food. While sugar and caffeine may give you a buzz that seems to last a while, it really doesn't, and when it drops you, you have no energy left. Also, eating good foods like fruit and vegetables help provide our body with nutrients needed to keep it functioning. If you eat sugar all the time, your teeth start rotting, to start to gain weight, and that's the opposite affect you want. So keep sugars and fats to a minimum, and eat more of the other food groups. But remember: to much of a good thing can also be a bad thing. Also, if your hungry, but don't drink much, it could just be you're thirsty, so drink plenty too.

Eating healthy + Sitting down all day = not healthy.

Working on your fitness + only eating junk = not healthy.

You need good functioning muscles to have a healthy body, working out is the only way to Get these. Eating healthy is also important, extremely important, but what's the point of eating healthy is you don't take care of the rest of your body?
