Lecture: (the answer you are looking for is below)
Freon is no longer freon it is now known as refrigerant, the original Freon hasn't been in use for decades. Freon was a brand name.
Refrigerant cycle:So we have a pure gas, at room temperature and pressure a gas.If we compress the gas we get a hot gas that occupies less space.
We then cool the hot gas and this turns the gas into a liquid. We use a "condenser" (special high pressure radiator on a car or air conditioner) to do this.
Then the cool high pressure liquid goes to one of two types of "expansion" devices:
These two devices both spray the cool liquid into a evaporator ( a special radiator again) that is maintained at low pressure, this causes the liquid to boil and vaporise. Making the evaporator very cold.
The refrigerant gets warmed by what ever we are trying to cool (EG: the air inside of your car)
Once the gas is warm it travels back to the compressor to start over again
Other uses:Basically this heat pump technology is used on refrigerators, AC systems of all sizes, heat and cool heat pump systems, Highway truck refrigerated trailers, The space shuttle and so many more.you use freon to cool your car and make the air conditioner work
A refrigerant (freon) is required for an A/C system to cool. Therefore, no, the A/C should not work is the freon is removed.
No, you have to call a repair man to come do it for you, unless you have to have a licences to work with freon.
well unless you are certified to work on automotive a/c systems you can't even buy freon
no but your defrost wont work well
to answer your question they are about 30 bucks a can but you can not do the work your self because no and days they have a recaptor tecnique to catch the release of the extra freon left in the system
Mine is out of Freon.
one reason maybe that your low on freon
try first with freon
You probably need to recharge the freon.
No problems. Your AC will just work a little better.
It is Low on Freon. I have a Tahoe that does the excat thing when my freon gets low..the back will be freezing cold and the front not.
