Aside from the reasons for being in jail in the first place, it probably violated the terms of receiving the benefits. You have to be willing, able, and actively seeking full time employment constantly and generally have to report your progress weekly. You might reopen the claim afterwards, but it depends on each individual state on that.
Can I receive my unemployment if I was fired for going to jail it was out of my control
No, Bishop Thomas Weeks did not end up going to jail. He did marry Christina Glenn Weeks and has ended up back in the spotlight in Hollywood.
Unemployment benefits may be garnished to collect child support, but it seems unlikely that someone in jail would be eligible for unemployment benefits.
If the question is . . how much unemployment money do you have to steal before going to jail . . . then the answer is ANYamount is an unlawful/illegal amount. Unemployment compensation comes from the taxes paid by everone else. When you commit fraud to receive unenmployment (or ANY other form of welfare) you are committing theft against ALL taxpayers (i.e.: "The State").
One qualifies for unemployment ONLY while available to work AND actively seeking work. Folks in jail cannot work, so they are disqualified from unemployment benefits.
Collecting it would be illegal, as you can not comply with the conditions for receiving it. Return what you received and ask for it to be temporarily(?) discontinued. When you get out, there may be time left in your benefit period (normally 52 weeks to collect a normal 26 weeks of payments) to receive some of the benefits.
Lindsay lohan is NOT going to jail for year, she is going for 90 days., which is less than 10 weeks. reason: something about a DMI.
No. You have to be available for work and looking for wok.
Yes you can becuse it is not right i guess lol.....
he was in douglasville, ga county jail a few weeks ago, i was actually in line behind him going to court. didn't realize who he was until some lil crunk white guy and i were getting released and he said "pt" was still in... this was about 2 weeks ago....
It is a very large fine or even a nice little stay in a jail. If its your second offense you will most likely be going to jail. If its your third offense you will go to jail for at least three months.
Unemployment is designed for those ready, willing, and able to work, a status which you clearly do not hold if you are incarcerated. The penalty for lying or misrepresenting yourself to receive unemployment benefits can be severe and is known as benefits fraud - it may include fines and jail time.
