When rice was first discovered in China thousands of years ago it quickly rose in importance both spiritually and as a major food source. The people of ancient Chine worked tirelessly to master the techniques to perfectly harvest rice. Rice became one of the main food sources and was consumed by almost every member of the population. So important was rice that it was specially prepared into festival cakes for special yearly celebrations for luck. Rice was also used as an offering to their gods further indicating how valuable rice was to them.
