Fascism is a smaller, less noticeable form of government control. For example, the government can control businesses by private leaders, whereas socialism is obvious as to who is in charge, basically if America was controlled by a socialist government it would be President Obama that was obviously in charge. The U.S government is pushing towards socialism.

In fact fascism is more similar than different from communism although they uncompromisingly claim dead foes against each other.

Both systems are similar in these aspects:

  1. They all eliminate opposite or different political existence by laws or force in the name of state.
  2. They all divide society into different classes and claim that one or some classes are superior to others by laws or by government's policies. In some socialist countries the working class is considered superior to bourgeois while in Nazi's fascist system Aryans are superior to Jewish and some other races. Both systems deny human equality. The political discrimination results in large-scale persecution and exploitation. Victims of such discrimination have no or very little human right to the extent that their lives are exposed to brutal threats and properties to free seize or free confiscation.
  3. They all exploit people in the name of state by laws so political persecution like exile could be made in the name of state without other reasons.
  4. They all control private lives of the individual in the name of people so the government and its officials have legal rights to take almost anything of personal belongings, to destroy personal careers or to kill.
  5. They all put legislation and trials under control of the exclusive governing political party.
  6. They all perform personal superstition of the political leader by wide and deep government Propaganda, claiming the leader certainly is the person to control the state and any challenge to his power is against people's will.
  7. They all keep secret police or other similar functioning organizations widely active to seek possible opposite or different deeds or speeches.

But there are some differences between fascism and socialism too.

  1. The fascism has the concept of country and insist that their country is the best; whereas the communism is under the illusion that countries will disappear in future.
  2. The fascism admits the social class differences and keep the differences unchangeable by laws; whereas communism claims that social classes will also disappear like countries.

In fact the main difference is that the fascism is of a Dictatorship by force and the communism is of a dictatorship by utopia.

Socialism is an -economic- system based on co-operative or public ownership of the means of production, collective management of enterprises, and production for use instead of production for profit.

Fascism is a -political- ideology based on national pride, patriotism, militarism, authoritarianism, opposition to socialism and communism, opposition to liberalism, and sometimes racialism.

Economics is of secondary consideration to fascist movements, which focus primarily on culture and safeguarding cultural and national heritage against what they see as the degenerate effects of liberal capitalism and socialism.

Fascism is generally considered to be a reaction against socialism and communism, and adopts a capitalist mixed economy or "third way" in economics as a means to safeguard the capitalist system from revolutionary change.

Fascist economics are based on corporatism, where officially the state, business and labor interests negotiate economic policies with each other in a process of class collaboration, and private enterprise is regulated by the state and subordinated to national interests. Unlike socialist economics, fascism retains private property in the means of production, rejects collective decision-making within firms, and is based on the profit system, and is thus a form of capitalism similar to the model existing in Western Europe today.
