Almost all of it - is imported ! We produce very little oil/gas ourselves - relying instead on imports to satisfy our needs.
Britain does have some oil of its own, which is mined off the coast of Scotland in the North Sea. It also imports oil and gas from Russia and the Middle East.
Most of it comes from fossil fuels such as coal and gas. A small percentage comes from other sources such as nuclear, and renewable sources.
In 2008, 97% of the UK's oil consumption came from the North Sea.

Gas Oil or Gazoil is what is called in the UK Diesel - the fuel oil used in the Compression Diesel engine as used by 90% of all Trucks Wagons Semis etc !! It is very similar to fuel oil used for heating ! But more refined !
