Super hard!
To start with, you must remove the intake manifold and everything that's attached to it to get to the upper pump bolt. It's no picnic, but can be done by the slightly above average DIY'er. Just plan on it taking the whole day and start early.
========== 1. You will need helper :) because should have access from the top and also from the bottom many, many times... 2. Move motor down before start this procedure. I myself, 8/29/09
My Horn on my 1995 Oldsmobile Achiva does not work. How do I get it to work?
2.3L quad 4 is located under the exhaust manifold passenger side. To replace you have to remove the exhaust manifold.
no there is not i had to find out the hard way
You will fine it right on side of the starter on the front side of the motor
On the quad 4 engine the water pump is on the back of the engine. For your application the consensous is that you must pull the timing cover off and insure that the twin cams remain in the same position. Then you remove the exhaust manifold in order to remove the water pump. I got an estimate and the mechanic said he wouldn't touch it for less than $600. Another site you could log onto is www.Quad4forum.com. These people are quad 4 enthusiates. I hope I have been of service.
if its a quad 4 engine, you must remove the top engine cover to reveal ignition assembly. not a cheap part to replace. replace plugs only when misfiring.
there isn't one.the crankcase is ventilated through a seperator which is mounted on the left hand side of the motor toward the rear.right in front and to the right as you look under the hood.this sometimes becomes plugged with oil.
15mm on 3100 v6 and also quad 4
V6 3.1 OR QUAD 4 2.3?
I have a 95 Olds Achieva with the same engine. In the Haynes repair manual for this car it says the cooling system holds between 7.5 and 13.6 quarts depending on the engine and cooling system options. I'm guessing (tentatively!) that the Quad 4 probably holds the minimum amount which would be about 7.5 quarts.
The spark plugs in an Olds '95 "quad four" are located under a metal shroud on the top of the engine. It also houses the coil packs and a unique coil pack holder which sets directly above the centrally located plugs. There are no plug wires, nor will you find a distributor.
