Aside from the fact that it originated in a similar geographis region there is not a lot of simiaraisty between Zoroastrianism and Buddhism. It has more in common with the Abrahamic religions than Buddhism/ Like almost all religions and philosophy, Zoroastrianism supports being "good" rather than "evil" as a general direction for it's followers.

  • Zoroastrianism is a deity based religion with a good and evil god (Ahura Mazda and Ahriman) Buddhism has no controlling deity requiring worship or obedience,
  • Zoroastrianism has a creation story, Buddhists neither know or care how existence came into being in part because the search is pointless and secondly because the physical world i an illusion
  • There is a moral code rather than the suggestians of the Eightfold Path
  • Damnation and salvation are doled out by the deity, In Buddhism ever person finds his own way to enlightenment
  • Zoroastrianism has no reincarnation
  • Zoroastrianism prescribes ritual clothing like Judaism, Buddhism has no position on this.
