Both Catholic and Hindu religion believe in manifestation of God in multiple forms. Catholics believe God manifests as Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit and Holy Father whereas Hindus believe God manifests as Krishna, Rama, Shiva, etc.

The Roman Empire and the Catholic Church resembled each other in that they both had their "capitals" in Rome. However, they were in "charge" of different realms: the Roman Empire was in charge of civil affairs and the Catholic Church was in charge of Spiritual affairs.

One may best understand this by looking at our own county...The US Government is in charge of maintenance of the our highways, enforcing laws, and national security...while the Catholic Church is in charge of men's souls...This relationship is complimentary (symbiotic)...one can live in a civil society and one has the freedom to worship God as he prescribed - in the Church.

The two governments worked then as they do today - each in charge of a different aspect of life that affects their subjects.

The Catholic religion is based on Judaism and believes that the Messiah came in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. The Catholic religion is thus Christianity and only believes in one God, while the Roman religion was polytheistic.
