Its in the Cluster.
The instrument cluster can be replaced. The connectors on the back of the instrument clusters are the same for all versions of that generation of the Ford Focus. There are however problems when doing this: -The odometer will show the miles from the old cluster. The milage is built in to the cluster, not the car. -Some panel lights (like the ABS light) may light up depending on your vehicle's options. It is sometimes possible (although usually relatively expensive) to have the cluster reprogrammed at a Ford dealership to correct these problems.
Many won't roll back, but you can often put a drill on the speedo and roll it forward to the proper mileage.
i found a tsb and it talks about coolant backing through the wireing harness says to remove blue cover and check for it
There are no set time or milage limits for a cat replacement A cat is normally replaced only when it fails.
You don't. It's illegal. If you have a faulty gauge cluster and need to replace it with a new or used set, you need to take it to a qualified shop that is allowed to do it and they have to set your new gauge cluster to your old ones milage.
I have the same problem a 2000 Saturn sc2 the odometer is diglital lights, regesters 50046 and does not change. Does anyone know if I can change with a junk yard cluster and have it work? dealer seams to think it,s the cluster but wants 500 dollars. would the black box send the correct milage on the car now or would the odometer show the milage from the salvage unit? Or would it not work at all. Sory to answer a question with a question Thanks all Pete
The more popular and safer mod to do would be to buy an entirely new gauge cluster out of a wrecked neon that had a tach. SRT and Tach clusters are direct swaps into neons with no tach (I've got an '03 SE with an '03 SRT-4 cluster). One downside - your mileage won't carry so your cluster will read the milage on the car it was removed from.
No milage for replacement is stated recommendation is Check belt every 10,000 miles replace when belt width is down to 22mm.
turn the key to position '2'. use the steering wheel button to scroll though the menu until you reach the milage screen. then press the up/down arrows to find the flex service screen. Push and hold the R button on the right side of the instrument cluster, it will then ask you if you want to reset the service, release and push and hold again to reset.
The highway gas milage for a Dodge Dakota varies by vehicle. Average milage is around 16 mpg.
mileage counteron the back of the instrument panel is a cicuit board. the counter is soldered in it. it's probably burnt on one of it,s connections.
