prevent the start of another world war
Adolf Hitler
Germany
The Munich Pact was an attempt by the democracies to appease Hitler by ceding him the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia, in the hopes that he would end or delay his expansion. France and Britain realized that they were unprepared to wage war. Ironically, neither was Germany, but Hitler bluffed the democracies into believing it was.
Im not sure but I think Hitler wanted to get Czeslovakia's Sutenland, so he declared war. That caused France and Great Britain to panic so they gave Sutenland away. Even though I'm not sure.
Edward Daladier and Neville Chamberlin :))
the withdrawl from world affairs is called
Yes. He met Hitler in Munich and came away with his 'peace in our time' agreement which was intended to appease Hitler but turned out to be worthless.
Efforts to appease failed to stop Hitler's territorial advances and eventually war was the only option which was left.
The leader attempted to appease the angry crowd by addressing their concerns and offering a compromise.
The western countries that were France, Italy- Benito Mussolini and Britain- Neville Chamberlain were appeasing to Hitler because he wanted Sudetenland which was a part of Czechoslovakia because it was occupied by a majority of a population of Germans... also Britain, Italy and France thought that if they agree to his demands in return of a favor of not invading any other territory. They signed this appeasement without the knowledge of Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia was shocked but could not do anything as it was not that powerful to defeat France, Italy, Germany, Britain or any of them.
Hitler was appeased in Munich, Germany. And to appease means to give in or gain the good will of someone. In other words, Hitler got his way in Munich Germany. The Germans gave in to his commands.
