Usually four years. However there may be some institutions where this is not the case (e.g. part-time study towards a degree would take longer). It would would be wise to check the requirements for the program/institution you are interested in attending.

The master's degree can take approximately two to three years to complete, depending on the specific program of study; the credit load carried per semester, and provided the student takes the degree as prescribed by the college or university.

A bachelor's degree in most areas can require between 120 to 128 college credits particular to a specific program of study. This would be based on a college or university that operates on a regular two semester academic year which is the most common. For institutions that operate on a tri-semester or quarter-semester it would be quite different. That being said, the Bachelor's degree - in most cases - is designed as a four year program of study, provided the student is full-time and follows their chosen program of study as prescribed by the college or university, and also provided the individual does not require prerequisite or developmental coursework as a result of basic skills testing. The minimum credit load for a full-time student is no less than 12 credits per semester. However, to complete the degree within the four years, a credit load of approximately 15 to 18 credits is recommended. For individuals who work or who have other responsibilities that would prohibit them from attending full-time, completion of the degree may take twice as long. Still, some of this time can be cut down by attending summer sessions and/or interim sessions. In addition, the bachelors and associate degrees are referred to as undergraduate degrees while the masters and doctorate degrees referred to as graduate degrees.

Typically, a masters in this area will require the completion of approximately 33 credits in specified areas. This could take about two to three years depending on course load per semester.

What job can you get with associate degree in theater?

I earned a A.A. in Speech and Theater at a community college, however just an associate degree will not open many job opportunities. It does looks good on a resume. I'm now pursing/finishing up my degree in Theatre Education at Austin Peay State University. Once I graduate I will be able to teach in Knd through 12 grade schools. In my opinion, discover why you want to/did study theatre. For me it was because I wanted to teach. If theatre is what you really want to earn a degree in, then you may want to earn a B.A. or B.F.A. in Theatre Education, Acting, Directing, Design, or Playwright. The B.A. or B.F.A. is more likely to get you job opportunities at regional, professional, and academic theater companies. Possible Careers with degree in Theatre: Communications/Marketing Public Relations Playwright Actor Set Designer Light Designer Costume Designer Make Up Designer Prop Designer Director Teacher: (Children's Theatre, Secondary Education) Professor: (M.F.A. or P.hd. required) Radio Personality Film/Video Production Theatre Businessman Good Luck!!!
