I think it would be about 1 million years!!

Considering the earth has existed for 4.6 billion years I would assume this is slightly off. As it takes many billions of years for the particles floating in space to form a planet and then billions of more years to get to that extent it would be a long long long time!

Addendum: Cosmologists have confidently dated the universe to 13.72 billion years old (4 S.F.).

They predict that the earth should begin feeling the the effects of our Sun expanding as it exhaust its supply of hydrgen starting in about 900 million years or so. The earth could get some more time by moving away from the Sun as the Sun loses more and more mass. But, the end will come not long afterwards anyway.

well according to big ban theory at very initial stage universe was as small as a size of a proton of a atom but within t-43 sec you can say in no time it became as large as our galaxy ie 1000 lightyear long and then onward it continued to expand at an increasing rate. Now you may ask why universe is expanding? scientists say that it is because of dark energy but no one has any scientific proof of this answer

Nobody knows for sure. Some theories:

Religious:

Christianity: The Book of the Revelation of St. John the Divine mentions "a new Heaven and a new Earth", which we can take to mean that the old Universe is gone. However, this happens after the Second Coming, about which no less a figure than Jesus Himself says "no man knows the day nor the hour", even going on to say that HE doesn't know, only "the Father in Heaven" does, so that's not a lot of help there in figuring out the timing.

Judaism: Somewhat similar to Christianity, but it will be the First Coming of the Messiah that presages the end. Some sects believe this will happen in or by the year 6000 in the Jewish calendar (which is around 225 years from now). A thousand years after that come the "new Heaven and new Earth".

Islam: The world will end, but the timing is again "known only to Allah".

Buddhism: It's a little vague, but the Sermon of the Seven Suns says that after "hundreds of thousands of years" the rains will stop and all plants will die. After "a great lapse of time" another sun will appear and dry up ponds and brooks. Then, with some vast but unspecified amount of time in between, 5 more suns will appear, the last of which will cause the Earth to burn up. This is not exactly "the universe" dying out, but since people and animals won't last much longer than the plants do, it's effectively the end of anything they were interested in.

Hinduism: Brahma will live for 311,030,000,000,000 years, after which the universe will end (and then be reborn).

Mayan: Kinda disproven by now, since they thought it would happen in December 2012 AD (actually, there's considerable evidence they did NOT actually believe that the world would end when the Great Cycle reset, but it was a semi-popular theory from about 1995-2013).

Scientific:

All the scientific theories about the end of the universe place it far, far in the future.

Big Rip: at least tens of billions of years from now.

Big Crunch: at least a hundred billion years from now.

Big Freeze: at least a hundred trillion years from now.

Proton Decay: at least 10^34 years from now.

Heat Death: at least 10^100 years (and probably much longer) from now.

The Universe will gradually change over time; eventually there will not be enough free energy left to sustain any form of life. There is not one specific moment when it will "die out"; this is rather a gradual process.

Nobody knows how long it will be until the universe ends. It seems likely that the universe will last for billions more years.
