If the truck is used for industrial or commercial heavy hauling you can expect additional strain on the motor, and as a result, less overall life. All in all, its a combination of how hard you push it, how well you maintain it, and a "perfect situation" number of roughly 300,000 for either engine. I was unable to find a source on V6 engine life for that model truck, but I would imagine it is slightly less due to a smaller engine hauling the same load.
