According to the Royal Air Force Museum, the Haddock Force bombing missions over Italy were largely ineffective. Despite the French authorities' attempts to block the missions (they were fearful that any attacks would result in Axis retaliation against relatively undefended French cities), some RAF bombers managed to take off in raids occurring on the nights of June 11/12, 15/16, and 16/17. These raids involved a grand total of 80 aircraft of Haddock force, mostly Whitley and Wellington bombers.
The weather proved a far more formidable opponent for Haddock force than the Regia Aeronautica, with thunderstorms and icy conditions preventing all but 13 of the Wellington bombers on the first raid (out of 63 total aircraft) from finding their targets, of those that did, two were shot down. (These represented the only combat losses Haddock Force would suffer. They were incurred without any loss to the Italians.) During subsequent missions, only six aircraft out of a total of 17 committed were able to find their targets due to thunderstorms and other bad weather conditions. No aircraft on either side were destroyed.
Thus, the final balance sheet for the "Haddock Force" missions of June 11-17, 1940, is this
RAF: 2 Whitleys destroyed
Regia Aeronautica: no aircraft losses
