Most geckos will lay 1-2 hard shelled eggs at a time. These eggs are usually deposited 2-4" deep in moist soil. Depending on the species will determine the time in between each clutch but generally geckos will lay every 30-90 days. incubation periods can range from 15-120 days depending on species and the life expectancy of the animal.
Geckos almost always have two soft-shelled eggs that harden quickly after leaving the female's body. What makes it a confusing situation is that they can lay groups (clutches) of eggs with other geckos, when there are many females in the area. I was in the back yard digging up a soft pile of powdery sand to mix in the fall garden, when I noticed 13 eggs within three shovelfuls, as I dumped them on the garden. I placed them in a bucket with one inch of sand and placed it in the livingroom, checking it daily. Five days later they seemed to get heavier. Ten days later, I looked in and had a good belly laugh. Five of the eggs had hatched. I took them over to the neighbor's to show off. I put all five in his hand and I reminded him that he would never hold five dinosaurs in his hand again (Geckos have been found in amber that was 100,000 years old). He looked at me with a most serious stare, nodded his head, and softly placed them in the bushes to grow up. A few days later he looks over at me as I'm walking to my car, and says, "My boss doesn't believe me. He says I was at a pet shop or something." I responded, "Seven more eggs hatched today." He ran to my house and took them to work! "Be gentle with Mother Nature's gifts and they will be gentle with you." - Jeff Vincent, Hurst, Texas, President of the Forty Foot Club
Most species of gecko will lay 2 hard shelled eggs and deposit them 2-6 inches deep in moist/damp soil/ vermiculite. There are some species of gecko that have live births. There are also some species of gecko that do not lay them in soil, they will glue them to a specific area and guard their eggs untill they hatch.
Different species produce at different rates. typically there are a few factors:
How long does it take for the animal to reach maturity?
How big does the animal get at full size?
Different species have different market values due to their reproductive cycle. Animals that take less time to mature, will produce sooner, and more frequent clutches of eggs. Animals that take multiple years to mature, usually only lay a few clutches a year.
In a general sense it takes most gecko species 1-2years to mature. when mature, most gecko species can lay a clutch of eggs every 2-4months. Depending on species.
For Males 9 Months Old
For Females 14 Months Old
Most species of gecko will lay 2 hard shelled eggs 4-8" deep in moist soil.
Geckos apparently mate a few times a year and females might have two eggs, so perhaps 3 to possibly 8 hatchlings a year?
Usually 2.
The owner of the gecko. Female geckoes aren't the most maternal creatures around, so the hatchlings are completely helpless and doomed without the care of the gecko's owner.
Two every two to three weeks. Sometimes the female will lay one egg her first clutch. But two almost every clutch after.
yes they can because i have two females in the same cage
well no & yes. some geckos need males & some females can have babie by there selfs kinda weird lol!:)
sometimes female coyotes have 5 babies but most female coyotes have 7
Female mice will mostly have from 6-12 babies at a time. Some Female might have more or less than that. There really is no right answer to this.
If it's penis is big enough and she is pleased
If the gecko is a female, there will be no lines on the belly between the back legs.
