The Patriot Act is changing it more and more! Taking away rights of 6 year old boys with the "No Fly Law," because he seemsto be a terrorist! He is 6 years old! The Executive Branch is becoming paramount over our judicial branch and is changing the country we live in today. Our founding father signed this document with Americas laws in 1787 and NOTHING should be changed from it. Those men founded this country and they had the right to sign this document and make up all of the rules on it. Without those men our recent government would not even be here. They SHOULD NOT have the right to change aything at all. GET RID OF THE PARTIOT ACT AND ALL OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCHES AUTHORITY TO DETAIN WITHOUT CHARGE OR TO SEARCH WITHOUT PROBABLE CAUSE! -16yrs old. LV, NV.

The Constitution can be amended by a 2/3 vote of the Congress, followed by ratification by 3/4 of the States. This has been done 18 times since 1787. (The original Bill of Rights, plus 17 other Amendments since then.) The Constitution can also be changed in a Constitutional Convention, which requires a request of 2/3 of the States. This has never happened.
In the United States, a change in the US Constitution is called an amendment. The Constitution itself describes what must be done to make a change in that governing document. Other nations with a constitution also have their own ways of changing their own constitution.

The Constitution has helped us build the country and the privileges that we have to this day.

Contrary to internet myth, the president has not violated the constitution.
Congress can not make informal changes to the constitution. The only ways that the constitution can be changed is if 2/3 of the states ratify the change, or a constitutional convention takes place.
It can be amended, revered, or ignored.
