I have learnt is that, during the past when the gold rush was around, the Chinese came for gold but were abused. After a long horrible time for the Chinese the Government said that the Chinese could stay. And that's how we became Multi - Cultural at first.

Perhaps we should reflect on the fact that different groups have made different contributions at different times.As the first nation,obviously the aboriginal community have made a significant contribution,then the anglo-celts arrived and made their mark.More recently,after 1945 there has been waves of Immigration from a wide variety of European nations as well as refugees from countries within a few days sailing.How many languages,sub cultures make up Australia's very diverse population? Obviously hundreds.How many different kinds of restaurants or music can be found in the big cities? That's one simple measure of the variety of different cultures.

We have many cultures in Aussie Land...but the main two are Aborginals...and the South Seas Inlanders...the beliefs of our Society are influences by the 'Stolen Generation' and Blackbirding..
