Depends on how hungry your guests will be! Typically speaking, at a BBQ cookout the average guest will consume 1-2 pieces of chicken, or 1/2 rack of ribs, or 1 hamburger, or 2 Hot Dogs. So depending on the type of food you will be grilling, the above is a good guideline to start with.
As far as sides, it is recommended to have 1 lb of sides per 5 guests. So with 50 guests you can mix and match about 10 lbs of side dishes. (Baked beans, slaw, etc...)
3 to 4 oz starch each
3 to 4 oz vegetables each
4 to 6 oz meat each
Using a small tea cup for portion control is a good rule of thumb.
Don't fill the cup all the way to the top but about as much as you fill it with tea.
Of course this is subjective. If you're throwing a party for pro football players you're probably going to want to increase the portions (don't mess around with the little pack of ribs you get at your local supermarket, go to the meat market and get a case), if the ladies garden club a little less. Remember that 4 oz of lettuces is going to take up more room than 4 oz broccoli, 4 oz mashed potatoes about the same as 4 oz rice.
Size the plates your gusts will eat from the same way. People almost always eat everything on their plate. If your crowd is going to be weight conscious use smaller plates, If you've got the football team again go get some platter and be done with it.
If this info doesn't fill your need, call a couple of reputable caterers, they can guide you along the same rules they use when catering from small dinners to big parties.
Depends on how big the tray is, really. I'd go with 3 or 4, maybe.
A minimum of 50. Personally I would say 100 Hot dogs and 100 Hamburgers. That way if they want more they can have more.
15, u poop.
Amazon sells warming trays. Simply search up 'warming trays' under the home and kitchen section on Amazon and they will give you a list that include warming trays with the price of at least $20 to at most $100.

I would plan on 3-4 per person if served as an appetizer or 7-8 if served as more of a main dish. It also depends on how big the hors d'oeuvres are.
