Growing up, Charles Dickens lived a life of financial uncertainty due to his father's inability to pay his debts. As a result, young Charles entered the work at a very young age. In his early years he had to work in a blacking factory which was a factory were he had to put labels on bottles. Now from what I read he was doing this in between the ages of 10-12. Not saying he worked for two years, im saying ive heard various ages like 10,11,and 12. He was working for his own income but mostly so he could bail out his dad who was improsined because of debt.
