In general an average human walks at 4 miles per hour, so your speed is normal. Athletes walk at about 5-6 miles per hour normally.

and as people age the speed of walk comes down by .5 miles for 10 years after 30.

Normally, one mile. Unless you are talking about the kind of race walking done in the Olympic games, walking one mile in just under fifteen minutes is a good pace. In fact, if you were to talk two miles in just under 30 minutes six days a week before breakfast, that might be all the aerobic exercise you need. Furthermore, it is sustainable; you could to it until your dotage.
