That varies go greatly there is no real answer. It depends on your driving habits and other variables. I have seen a Corolla that needed brakes at 15,000 miles, (this person had the very bad habit of resting his left foot on the brake pedal while driving) or if you have a tendency to accelerate hard and brake hard. Downshift when decelerating even if it's automatic. Don't approach a Stop Sign at 40mph then have to brake hard. I have also seen a Corolla the went 75,000 miles before having to have pads replaced. Remember 70% of stopping is done by the front brakes and the wear is directly proportional to that. The front will probably need to be done twice before the 3rd brake job when the rear will also need it. And Trivia: The kinetic energy of the car is transformed to heat when braking and dissipated...with the exception of Hybrids that use the kinetic energy to help re charge batteries

Why does Toyota 4runner brakes pulsewith new rotors?

I had fought this problem for the past two years. Two years ago I took my 1997 Toyota 4 Runner into a shop with the brakes pulsating and the stearing wheel shaking badly. They replaced the rotors, pads and did various other things. Two weeks later I was back in the shop with the pulsating/shaking again. They machined the rotors and I was on my merry way. So I thought! A month later the brakes are doing it again and I had spent so much money and time trying to deal with this that I just let it go. I finally took it to a great Toyota mechanic at a Toyota dealership and they explained to me that the shop before had used like generic parts and that the back brakes were out of adjustment. The back brakes were carrying only 10 percent of the stopping power and this was causing these cheap rotors to overheat and warp. He explained to me that it is very important to use Toyota parts on their vehicles. And make sure that your back brakes are adjusted to specs. Hope this helps and saves you some time and money. The true fix to this problem was a bit costly but it is done right with the right parts and now I feel safe again.

How to fix rear brakes on a 96 Toyota corolla?

You will need to purchase a workshop manual from an auto shop or borrow one from a library specific to your vehicle. from the manual you will be told what parts you need, what tools you need and exactly how to do it yourself. However, because of the age of your vehicle, the drums may need to be remachined because they are no longer perfectly round. you can determine this by rotating the wheel with the handbrake off. if it grabs and won't turn completely it is often because the drum is not round. this should only be done by a professional organization. Unless you are very careful, and know what you're doing or have someone to assist you who knows what they are doing it is not advisable to do your own brakes before you have some knowledge of the mechanics of your vehicle. maybe you should talk to a mechanic and see if he will allow you to do the job under his supervision.

How do you change a cambelt on a 1996 Toyota Corolla Levin AE111?

The fact that you ask this question tells me you need to pay a professional to do this. If done incorrectly, serious engine damage can occur. Unless you know exactly what you are doing, then do not attempt this repair.

Why does Toyota Corolla 2001 needs 1 quart of oil every gas tank?

Your 2001 Toyota corolla SHOULDN'T use 1 quart of oil for every refill of the gas tank. If yours is doing this, i would stop driving it immediately because if you lose enough oil, your engine will overheat and cease itself in place, literally welding it so it will never move again. I believe that you have a very severe oil leak and would get it checked right away.
