Most K engines, when maintenanced correctly, are designed to run +- 200k kilometers (~120k miles). When one and the same driver keeps his K engine in good shape, and rides regularly, up to 300k kilometers can be reached. Absolute maxima reach to 500k kilometers. note: 2v are known to be more durable than 4v. note2: if you want long live, maintenance regularly, and ride at least once a week for no less than 50-60 miles in one trip. note3: if a valve breaks off, you can continue for at least 30-40 miles. The engine will ba a total loss anyway. for more tech info, visit www.flyingbrick.de !

Any engine will last several hundred thousand miles given proper care (tune ups, oil changes, etc).
if the number is going down (-3475 4.. 3..) you need an engine service in 3475 miles, but if it's increasing you are 3475 miles passed your last engine service
My second set of rear pads have just been replaced at 47,500 miles
my got 266,667 and still no used of oil or lost of power
Timing chains are designed to normally last the life of the engine and are replaced when the engine is rebuilt.
I have a 530 that currently has 84000 miles on it...I know many people, that have put over 200,000 miles on the 5 series with no issues....Bmw is a great car and if taken care of will last for well over 300,000 miles....I plan on keeping mine for many years to come and the miles are just a number for a BMW....Take care of it change the oil (only use synthetic) and it will run far past any other car...
The life expectancy for all BMW's is projected to be 300k miles, without replacing any of the main components such as the engine, transmission, alternator, ect. The 335i is a little bit different considering it has a twin turbo. The life of a turbo is projected generously at about 150k. BMW's turbo's on the other hand are expected to last to 200k miles. With the proper maintenance and up keep, the BMW 335i is expected to live up to at least 200k miles.
It is designed to last the life of the engine and is normally changed when the engine is overhauled.
