For the 'Idul Adha sacrifice the following are the set guidelines for any Muslim who wish to offer a sacrifice:- # Sacrificial animals must be of the HALAL type, e.g. cattle, camels, goats, sheep Or similar. # Only adult, male animals are offered for sacrifce. # The sacrificial animal has to be healthy and must not have injury to its limbs (e.g. legs, horns, ears, body, tail, etc) # Seven people (there are 7 shares) can share a bull (cattle & camel), but only one person can offer sacrifice of a sheep or goat. # Sacrifice can only be done on the 1st day of 'Idul Adha until the 3rd day of 'Idul Adha in the Hajj month.
