Usually, if you just need to have a movement but are not feeling particularly impacted a serving of 7 sunsweet bite sized Prunes with a cup of hot tea or coffee will work in a few hours. If you are really bound up you might need to eat 7 more after about 4 or 5 hours, but be prepared for the fallout, after the initial hard dry fecal matter is expelled, you're going to go a few more times. DO NOT MISTAKE IT FOR GAS... if you gamble, you WILL lose! Good luck!
Since too many prunes could over stimulate you, leading to diarrhea, I would recommend just three per day. But of course, you have to observe how this affects you. Everyone is different, and different digestive systems have different levels of response to prunes.
Try three or four and wait a few hours before eating more. Make sure that you drink plenty of water and go for short walks every day to help solve this problem going forward. Eating an apple a day also may help.
