A Chevy S10 4 cylinder takes four and one half quarts of oil. A 6 cylinder Chevy S10 takes about five quarts of oil.

The 1987 s10 Blazer uses 4.5 quarts of oil. Make sure to check the amount using the dipstick as the amount could vary due to all of the old oil not draining completely.
If you are filling the rear differential, 3 and 1/2 pints should do it.
2.2L 1998 Chevy S10 holds 4.5 quarts of oil with the filter.

The 2.2l 4 cyl takes ~4.25qts. The 4.3l V-6 takes 4.5 to 5qts, most of the time they take 4.75qts.
