There are 2 states which are definitely visible but likely only 2 more.
New York and New Jersey are right there, and Connecticut and Pennsylvania are about 60 miles away, to the NE and SW respectively.
The next closest are Massachusetts to the north, Delaware and Maryland to the southeast, and Rhode Island to the east-northeast. But the closest, Massachusetts, is more than 90 miles to the north, about the same distance as Wilmington in Delaware and 20 miles farther than Philadelphia. So perhaps the reference to "five states" is to seeing Mount Everett in western Massachusetts.
The farthest I've seen the skyscraper is from the top of Kingda Ka @ Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ which is about 71 miles away.
The ESB has 102 floors, you can go from 1 to 75, not more.
On a clear day you can see New York, New Jersey(10 miles), Pennsylvania(60 miles), Connecticuit(45 miles) and Massachusetts (90 miles.
Only a little over 3 miles.
the best thing to see in NYC is the Empire State building. I live outside the city and the Empire State building is way the best.
See related link below.
You cannot see the sun setting from the top of the Empire State Building because the other buildings will interfere.
See related link below.
the empire state building
no
You can not see a place for mooring zeppelins (blimps, people carrying balloons. There was an idea to moor zeppelins on top of the Empire State Building, but, that idea was soon rejected and a radio/TV antenna was put on top instead.
There is the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building. Those are good places to see.
Yes, there is security at the Empire State Building. Use the link below to the official Empire State Building web site. Toward the lower left you'll see "Additional information" listed, and "Security" will be listed below that. Click on "Security" and you'll find answers to your questions about access control.
If you're standing at the top of a particularly tall building, then yes. Otherwise no.
The air resistance would slow it down so much that it probably wouldn't even leave a mark on the sidewalk. The popular myth that a penny dropped from the Empire State Building could kill someone is just that: a myth. See the Related Question below for more details.
because its amazing!! you can see the whole city on a clear day and its very attractive.
