Rutherford B Hayes, the United States' 19th president served only one term as President of the United States. He served from March 4th, 1877 - 1881. He had announced before his election that he was only to run for one term. He also served as the Governor of Ohio twice, from one from 1868 - 1872 and again from 1868 until his presidency in 1877. After Hayes' presidency, he died in his home state of Ohio in 1893 at the age of 70.
