How much changing do you have to do to put a solid front axle in a 1986 F-150 4X4?

the best thing to do would find a front axle from a late 70's 150 or bronco. You can buy a bolt on kit for this that makes it really easy. or if you got the axle you could fab it to work, and that wouldn't be to hard if you have good welding skills.
