In short, find a good basic pellet. Under 1 year, you can feed them an alfalfa base. Over that, try to find one made with timothy. Feed hay every day. The standard is alfalfa for babies, and timothy for not babies-- if you've gotten your pig from a store, she should be on timothy already. Fresh fruits and veggies are a must. Oranges every day or every other day help put vitamin C in their diet. Dark leafy greens provide iron and other nutrients. Carrots can be fed sparingly as a treat, since they're high in sugar. Fruits on occasion, as the acid content in some, and sugar in others, can lead to a fat piggy!
NEVER feed chocolate, avocado, onions, or raw potato.
Anything with vitamin C, such as celery, regular guinea pig food and timothy hay are its natural diet!
The plants guinea pigs can't eat are: bindweed, dog Mercury, sorrel, dock, nightshade and ragwort. You also shouldn't give them acorns, leaves, (from an oak tree) yew or yew berries, because they are poisonous
You can give guinea pigs: Cow parsley, dandelions, (but not too many at once, as they make them urinate a lot) groundsel, clover and grass. But, don't give guinea pigs grass from a lawn mower because it can make them ferment and they go bad in there stomach.
Pellets should only be available for the guinea pig in limited amounts (one spoon per adult pig, per day). You should also include a variety of fruit and veg into there diet also remember to give them plenty of vitamin c (veg with vitamin c) because guinea pigs cant produce their own vitamin C
hope this helps
You eat guinea pigs in Australia, but only dumb people eat guinea pigs
Guinea pigs are herbivores, plant eaters, and don't eat meat.
They like to nibble all the time they are awake, however like humans they need vitamin c. so hay alone is not appropriate.

As it is edible for them and helps wear down their teeth. People feed timothy hay to guinea pigs that aren't pregnant or young as if you give a normal guinea pig alfalfa hay (which is for pregnant guinea pigs and young guinea pigs), it will be too high in calcium (I think) which is bad for them.
usually hay they eat it to that is why it disappears
yes they can but they prefer hay which i use as bedding.
