I found a brand new fuel pump and filter screen on E-Bay for $79.When you replace the pump, just toss the round screen found on bottom in trash and don't replace it.
it will work but you have to use a pressure regulator in line so you can set the fuel pressure down to 6 psi. for the carburetor
Unsure what you mean set? But if you replace a fuel pump in your tank, if fitted properly should pump fuel as soon as you put ignition on and start car.
There are 2 electric fuel pumps in the tanks on a dual tank set-up (one on a single). There is also a mechanical fuel pump mounted to the passenger side of the block near the engine cross-member. Finally there is a fuel injection pump mounted on the top of the block above the intake manifold.
The fuel pump basically does what the name implies. It picks up fuel in the tank and pumps it from the fuel tank through a fuel filter to the engine. The pump is set to operate at a certain pressure that is needed for the application.
Bad fuel lines, clogged fuel injectors, or it may be getting the fuel but not igniting it, which is a different set of causes, and I'm certain that I forgot a few... Can you hear your electric fuel pump running? If not check to see if you are getting fire to it.
Sorry , no , the fuel tank has to be dropped in order to change the fuel pump if it is required

To change the fuel pump in a 2005 Impala one will need a fuel pump kit, socket wrench set, and a torque wrench. The gas will need to be drained from the tank and the battery will need to be disabled from the engine. The fuel pump is located inside of the fuel tank.
There is nothing to set. Just install it.
Low of fuel. Fuel shutoff set to off position. Fuel filter clogged. Fuel pump running but not pumping any fuel and must be replaced.
The Fuel tank has to be removed to change the pump assembly. Fuel pump assemblies are EXPENSIVE from the dealer ($500 plus) but far cheaper online ($100) at auction sites. Its a 3 hour job for the novice with regular hand tools (socket set, wrench set, Torx set)
