How much money will it cost to have a 1997 Kia Sephia blown head gasket repaired?
How much could you sell a 2000 ford taurus with blown head gaskets for?
If this is a nice car then spend the money and have the blown head gasket repaired before you try to sell it. With a blown head gasket it is only worth what someone will pay. Would you buy a car with a blown head gasket? I sure would not, as there is no way of knowing how much damage has been done. I would not touch this car as it stands now and neither will most people. It is worth very little with the gasket blown.
How much does it generally cost to have a blown head gasket repaired at a dealership or at an independent auto shop?

How much does it cost to repair a head in an engine?
Short answer: It depends on your engine, and your make of vehicle, like if you owned a Mercedes, it would cost more than if you have a Chevy. The Whole Story: Typically, when a head gasket blows, it blows because of a much more severe underlying problem. Gasket kits (the 'parts' required to simply replace the head gasked) cost very little, sometimes as little as $20 to $30USD. The common underlying problems that can cause a blown head gasket are a cracked or warped cylinder head, which are both caused by overheating. Sadly, a blown head gasket usually means that your vehicle is going to need a lot of money in repairs before it will run again... You see, once the bad gasket is replaced, the cracked or warped head must also be replaced or sent off for repair by a specialty machine shop. After that, you still must fix the problem that caused the overheating, which could be anything from a $20 valve to a $300 radiator replacement. Taking all this into consideration, a blown head gasket is a major crossroads for a vehicle owner - they must decide whether or not to spend $500 to $1500 USD, or to replace their vehicle. Tough call, and of course, the blown gasket usually never happens on payday!

Why does your 1991 subaru legacy overheat intermittently?
when it happened to mine 2 certified mechanics said it was a blown head gasket. it certainly wasnt the radiator, fans, thermostat, and the water pump wasnt able to be tested the mechanics said without replacing it and trying it out. So they deduced it to be the head gasket. Since we don't want to sink anymore money into it we are going to try nanotechnology head gasket repair fluid which is a combination of aluminum and copper in tiny particles. We are going to cross our fingers.

How to fix Blown head gasket 1998 Honda accord lx?
If you've got a blown head gasket there's a fairly good chance you also have a warped head. So... remove the drive belts, pulleys, covers, water pump, timing belt, intake and exhaust manifolds...basically, anything attaching the head to the engine needs to come off. remove the camshaft, then the head take the head to a machine shop for a flatness check. If it's not flat, they'll hone it. Give them money, thank them profusely and go to a Honda dealer. There you will buy a head gasket, new head bolts, a timing belt and a water pump. return home and put the car back together. As the book says, installation is the reverse of removal.

How much labor is involved in changing a blown head gasket out of a 1994 Mustang Cobra Supercharged The engine has 150000 Ks but still ran strong before the gasket blew I am also running 47o horses?
Dude...normally it's not too horrible. Usually a weekend will do it but you may want to get your heads cut for special gaskets. That is time and money to get them done. Since you are supercharged you are running higher pressure/temp at the heads and this is why you blew the gasket most likely. There is a special gasket, I think from FelPro, where they are O-ringed to be able to handle the extra pressure but the heads need to be grooved for them. If you just go back and put non ringed gaskets back on spend the money on good ones so they last longer. Don't shave your heads either as you have plenty of compression with the supercharger.

How much should it cost to replace a blown head gasket?
Heres the deal, to replace a head gasket it is obviously different by car and make and model, but a good formula to go by is about three to four times the cost of the parts. The average cost of parts to do this job is around 3 to 4 hundred dollars so expect to pay around $1200 to $1600 on the job. There are many ways other than that to figure it out like estimated hours.. On average a head gasket replacement will take 7 to 9 hours labor plus parts. This is a good figure to use however, most vehicles that have a blown head gasket are quite old and you should use the cost of doing the job to consider whether it is better to replace it at that point. If the car is newer, then the repair cost should be compared to it's relative value, many vehicles are worth putting the money into I have been buying cars and vans that have blown head gaskets for myself at a reduced cost and I have had great success repairing them without disassembling the engine. Its very simple to use and is a permanent repair. It costs 20.00 and its added to the radiator. It mixes with antifreeze and does work if you follow the simple directions. My cousin has a garage and has been using this stuff. Its very hard to find and is not found in part store's if you want any email me firstname.lastname@example.org Sealed up a blown head gasket and cracked block. Thanks Carl Shilanskis 1995 corsica 3.1 with a blown head gasket, 3k miles and so far so good. 1997 Chevy s10 V6 truck multiple misfire code keeps coming on changed wires plugs cap rotor tierd of spending money and problem still not fix?
Remove all the spark plugs and run a compression test on every cylinder. A misfire can be caused by a burnt valve, cracked head, or blown head gasket. A compression test will eliminate any of these possibilities. If you find a cylinder with low compression, then it may be time to open it up and find out what is going on. If you have a sweet smell at the exhaust, air bubbles coming from the radiator, loss of coolant with no apparent leak, or coolant in the oil, these are all symptoms of a blown head gasket or cracked head.
