how do you set timing on a 92 geo prizm if timing belt has broken
It isn't adjustable. It is controled by the computer
HI, There are definitely a timing belt and a water pump on the engine. The timing belt is behind the cover that is on the front of the engine and when there you will also find the timing belt tensioner, they come as a set when you purchase them. The water pump is also at the front of the engine and sits at the left of the timing belt cover as you look at the engine, the pump is driven by the belt, you can't miss it. Happy repairing and good luck.Steve H.
ignition timing or cam timing. see my profile for link. answers both.
if you are lucky it stops running. a blessing. if not, pistons hit the valves and total loss of motor. this is an interference motor. look that up in wikipedia, its there. http://www.kick-fix.com/ or read my timing belt page.
