Fasting is not very effective. You dont lose any fat, but you do lose muscle tissue. your body stores the fat and when you begin to eat again, your body puts that fat on the fat you stored from before. It slows down your metabolism. The best way to lose a drastic amount weight is to divide small amounts of food that you eat. divide the food you eat into 4-5 small portions for each day. also, exercise often(i suggest cardio). It is the best way to lose weight and boost your metabolism.

I'm the same weight as you and i don't think of myself as fat, I'm 10 11' but i am trying to get down to about 170 lbs. On the second day of the fast i gave up but remember DO NOT GIVE UP!! persistance pays off. After the second day you're not going to have any hunger pangs or cravings so stick it out for the first 2 days and your well on the way to losing all the weight you want. Also just remember when you want to pick up that burger, that eating rubbish is the easiest option, remind yourself that you want challenge yourself and also you're stronger than to let a burger ruin what you're trying to work, i hope i helped. depends if you eat fatty acids foods when you break your fastand what you do while fasting people who excersice are more likely to loose more weight than people who sleep all day long waiting for the time to break there fast.
